For as long as I can remember, my life philosophy has centered around a central concern: if you want me to accept a claim or settle for one side of an argument, you'll have to provide me with cold, hard facts.
Now that I'm all grown up, I've become able to seek these facts for myself, whether it is through web scraping, api interaction, good old survey submission, or simply by downloading a more or less messy csv file. I've also spent time learning how to make sense of that data, from how to visualize it to various ways of modeling it.
Data Science is a powerful tool that can be leveraged to debunk even the most deeply rooted fact derived from conventional wisdom. In this blog, I hope to share some interesting insights about society, nature and the meaning of life as I stumble upon them. Cheers!

HIKING
I feel like everytime I go on a hike I manage to get on the verge of death. Yet everytime everything turns out to be alright. In any case, there are few things I appreciate as much as fully abandoning myself in those chunks of Nature that were unaltered by man.
ABSTRACTION
Really, anything that cannot be fully conveyed in words tends to stimulate my interest. From Buddhism to Cosmology to Mathematics, I will feel perfectly content in any situation that involves extracting patterns and manipulating them.
